Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your first analysis

CompareAdvisor

What can I compare?+

Any consumer product, subscription service, software tool, tech device, appliance or generic category (e.g. 'best gaming laptop under €1000'). If it has comparable options, CompareAdvisor analyzes it.

How are the 1-10 scores calculated?+

Each AI independently scores the 4 criteria (price/value, performance, durability, user experience). The judge averages and validates the resulting scores.

Is the comparison objective if AIs can be biased?+

Using 3 AIs with distinct perspectives (critical, data-based, skeptical) significantly reduces bias. The critical model explicitly penalizes marketing over real-world facts.

Can I compare more than 2 options?+

Yes. You can compare up to 4-5 options in a single query. For more than 5 options, it is better to run two queries comparing the winners against each other.

Are the prices shown current?+

Estimated price ranges are shown based on available market data. Always check with the retailer for the exact, up-to-date price before buying.

About the platform

How long does an analysis take?+

Between 5 and 20 minutes depending on API load. The parallel phase is usually the longest (up to 5 min cap). While you wait, the page updates progress in real time.

Do I need an account to use it?+

No. You only provide your email to receive the result by email. The full result is also available at the result page URL for 7 days.

Are my analyses private?+

Yes. Each analysis has a unique ID and only whoever has the URL can view it. There is no public directory of analyses.

Which AIs take part in the analysis?+

Multiple AI language models act as analysts, each with distinct perspectives. The merge, critique, refinement and verdict are executed by the model with best availability at that moment.

Can I download the result?+

Yes. Once the analysis is complete you can download the report as a PDF from the result page.
